April 26th (this Friday) we will be playing the record release show for the Autodramatics debut LP.

Autodramatics are an Iowa supergroup of sorts, fronted by Andy Caffrey, who was a member of the Horrors (seminal slew garage rock band that was on In The Red before it was cool to be on In The Red). This album is super bad ass. If you’re into rock & roll and don’t pick this up, you’re missing out.

 April 26th - GABES - Iowa City, Iowa.
 w/ The Autodramatics, Brooks Strause and the Gory Details + Cracka Don.

We are pleased to announce we will be playing the Gross Domestic Product Festival on April 13th in Des Moines, IA.

We’re even more excited about the fact that Iowa legends House of Large Sizes will be playing this year and we have the extreme honor of opening for them! If you have never heard this band, you are missing out.

Our Maximum Ames Records labelmates H.D. Harmsen and Trouble Lights will also be performing! So much awesome. So much Iowa!

NEW LP THIS JUNE ON MAXIMUM AMES RECORDS

We are very excited to announce the release of our new full length this June on Maximum Ames Records. The album was recorded in four sessions over the course of the last year. The goal was to capture the sound and intensity of our live shows, so we tracked the whole thing live to tape with minimal overdubs. We’re very proud of the results and can’t wait to share the LP with you.

It is an honor to be putting the record out on Maximum Ames. There are so many great Iowa artists creating notable work in various genres right now, and Maximum Ames is doing a great job representing them all. We are excited to be label mates with such incredible artists as The Poison Control Center, Mumford’s, Trouble Lights, Christopher the Conquered and so many more. It’s an exciting time for Iowa music, and we thank Maximum Ames for their support.

Expect a video or two, a pre-order offer, a tour announcement and more leading up to the release in June. We are currently reviewing masters from the great Doug Van Sloun and finalizing artwork – then it’s off to the pressing plant!

We are super honored to have our single “BUBiX.” be named one of the 10 best 7 inches of 2012 by 7 Inches. This is especially of note, considering this record came out in 2011 and we recorded it in 2010. Eat that, 2012 releases!

Jay from 7 Inches wrote a way too nice review of the record back in May, which can be read here. We truly appreciate his continued support and the kind words in the podcast.
